No Going Back

The Story

It was whilst I was working overseas, with homeless and addicted people, that I truly began to understand the

power of a story.  There is nobody in this world that is not interesting so why should their story not be told?  I have never been overly comfortable with speaking publicly but that doesn’t mean I have nothing to say.

I have always written (it’s my way of processing) but it’s always been a private thing.  However, in the last few years I have written more than ever before; I feel there are things burning in my heart that I need to share. I was provoked by something I read; it said this, “Step up to the spotlight.  Not just as an example to others but for yourself.

Take every opportunity, challenge and risk that comes your way without questioning your worth, ability or place as a woman (and I will also insert....”as a writer”).

So here I am!

I created ‘No Going Back’ in the hope that it connects with you, the reader.

I will share my thoughts in three categories;

– Spiritual, General and Women.

I am a Christian so the ‘Spiritual’ will always lean that way, but it is my hope that anyone can find truth in my words and that my thoughts might impact your own spiritual journey. The writings under the category ‘General’ will cover various topics that affect us all.

The ‘Women’ category is written for or about women - but please, if you’re a male reader, still take a look.  It might open your eyes to what makes us tick – and to just how fantastic women are!  As a mum of three amazing, intelligent, strong and beautiful daughters I am absolutely passionate about seeing women released to believe the truth of how awesome we are and what we can achieve – to encourage us to stop competing with and comparing ourselves to one another and instead celebrate who we are and how we can support one another.

The things I write are reflective of where I am at in my life and faith.  My thoughts and opinions may change as I continue to learn, grow and evolve.  I feel like I have lived lots of ‘mini-lives’ already and have been many different versions of myself along the way; daughter, sister, friend, student, girlfriend, wife, colleague, mother of babies, mother of toddlers, mother of young people, mother of adults, daughter of aging parents.....each stage of life teaching me more lessons about myself and other people.  I love humanity and

I love thinking about what makes us all unique and valuable.

I hope you enjoy reading what I have to say as much as I enjoy writing it.  x
